Introduction :-
A mysterious emotional intelligence, a crucial Skill in our society. It is generally said if we show emotional intelligence in smaller things to be done perfectly, it leads to success in life. If you want job, you need knowledge but if you want to succeed in job, you must have to be emotionally intelligent.
Q. Why there is a problem in the society like beating kids, or at work or in toxic friendships or in relationships and it can be anything ranging from sexism to racism?

Ans :- According to psychology, there is insecurity due to lack of emotional intelligence in the society. Because it is hard to understand the emotion of others than that of yourself and even harder to connect it on an emotional level.

Definition :-

Emotion :-
It is an instinct and intuitive feeling after seeing anything in the world.

Emotional Intelligence :-
It is an ability to identify and manage your emotion and those of others.
The fundamental of emotional intelligence is to understand who you are?
More you go inside in search of yourself, more you become emotionally intelligent.
For being emotionally intelligent, we need three things in a appropriate manner i.e
(i.)   Right kind
(ii.)  Right quality
(iii.) Right place
It means a certain type of emotion required at certain place in an appropriate form.

What shapes our emotion :-
1. Past experiences (help us to understand others emotion in a better way).
2. Cognitive abilities
(Reflexive mind, Rational thinking to take over emotion).
3. Situation ( It tells us how should I react, we see in movies, there is comedy of dead body and people enjoy it. But in reality we don't).

Emotionally intelligent person will take decision on the basis of three factors
1. Economy
2. Effectiveness
3. Emotion

Equanimity :-
It is a quality of maintaining emotional balance.

Observational behavior of emotionally balanced human :-

1. Generally in every situation, a emotionally balanced person will not show overt emotion and not suppress their emotion at the same time.

2. Such people will not get influenced by praising or by criticism.

Example:- During  motivation, we often get bored when a manager used to talk rationally, But in case of a leader we don't get bored because they talk rationally and connect us emotionally.

Way to develop E.I :-

There is an important role of our parents to make us emotionally intelligent. Such as, when we get unconditional love or positive regard by parents that leads to warmth, responsiveness, empathy, patience, Preserverence in us. It forces their kids to understand the society well.

Emotional intelligence at workplace
  • Use of humour
  • Resolving conflicts amicably
  • Often engage yourself
  • Regular appreciation etc.
Results of EI at workplace
  • Job satisfaction
  • Increased commitment
  • Balanced work life
  • Increased job performance etc.
Key that would help us to be emotionally intelligent:-
  1. Acknowledge emotions
  2. Differentiate and analyze emotions
  3. Accept and appreciate emotions
  4. Reflecting on emotions and it's origin
  5. Emotion handling
  6. Handling the situation of others

The last note :-

Being emotionally intelligent is not only about understanding others but also to do better to see the world better.
Let me ask few questions..
  1. If you are emotionally intelligent then how will you teach it to the next generation?
  2. What would you like to change if you are an emotionally intelligent person ?
  3. What would be the consequences If we have emotionally intelligent..
  • boss in the office
  • Parents at home
  • Teachers at school
  • If we all are emotionally intelligent how would we approach the differences?
  • How would we approach topics like mental health?
Just imagine the world that we would be living in. A world full of mutual understanding, acceptance, tolerance and connection, a truly inclusive world.

Thank you.
